Summary of 2022: EVENTS 

One of the outcomes of an experimental profile of the Wrocław Institute of Culture was the events – fresh ideas for popularising the culture put into reality and activities tightening the relations between neighbours of the Wrocław districts. The official opening event of the Institute took place in February, and last year was full of changes – local and global. Still, in 2022 we sometimes experienced confusion but also experienced a sense of developing identity and pride in the achieved goals of successful cultural and social events. Summary of 2022: NETWORKING 

The first year of operation of the Wrocław Institute of Culture also meant networking in the cultural sector. We cooperated with various groups of entities – from local and regional partnerships with, e.g. associations, foundations and institutions to nationwide and international cooperatives. Our ideas for international cooperation, return to mobility, live meetings and – most importantly – dramatic war escalations in Ukraine influenced the operation of the Institute in strengthening the cultural sector.

Summary of 2022: SUPPORT 

As you may have noticed, some aspects of our operation are interconnected on various levels. Last year meant not only meetings, workshops, training and concerts but also you could see us as an institution supporting multiple local and international initiatives. In the last months, we have been trying to financially support the most exciting ideas and share knowledge and experiences with their creators.

SUMMARY OF 2022: COMPETENCES AND RESEARCH 

For the Wrocław Institute of Culture, 2022 was intensive and full of challenges but, most importantly, extremely exciting. For the last twelve months, we have not only built a new cultural institution in Wrocław but also tested the effectiveness of its programme. One of our tasks was to stimulate the development and strengthen the competencies of people working in the culture sector – that is where we are starting the summary of 2022.

Building a community through movement. About rave-based body experiment called LUCIDITY 

Arnis Aleinikovas, a resident of the Wrocław Institute of Culture as part of the European MagiC Carpets platform, worked in workshops with a group of Wrocław’s resident for over a month. The performance classes of the Lithuanian artist ended with a show open to the public – on January 12 we had a premiere of the “LUCIDITY” performance.
