The title “LUCIDITY” means “the ability to think clearly”, which, according to the Cambridge Dictionary, is described as a momentary experience. Participants of four December workshops led by Lithuanian artist could get to know this state thanks to movement techniques, e.g. through ecstatic movement, automatic writing or a long meditative dance in a rave rhythm. The whole process played an extremely important role in creating the final performance “LUCIDITY”, which combines all known methods of working with the body. Individual movements developed by workshop participants – performers of Thursday’s event – as well as texts and visualizations will be used in the final group show.
Rave, improvisation, meditation, body

The aesthetics of meditation practices, rave parties and techno will bring you into an ecstatic state in which the body subjected to the rhythm can move freely. The performers’ dance will also become one of the forms of escape to a place on the border between sleep and reality, a relaxed and tense body, darkness and light. The performative show created by Arnis Aleinikovas will invite viewers to reflect on the role of conscious movement. The main stage in Barbara will be a dance floor with colorful fluorescent lighting and artificial smoke.
